EDUCATION
- University of California, Berkeley, Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, 2019 - 2023
- Data Science
BACKGROUND
I am a fourth-year undergraduate student from Sacramento at the University of California, Berkeley. When I am not in the lab, I enjoy exercising, traveling, and reading.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
I am interested in bioinformatics, biochemistry, and genetics. I enjoy programming in Python and R and working in the lab. During my time in the Whiteman Lab, I researched the evolution of detoxification and chemosensation in Scaptomyza flava by analyzing genetic changes across the PPK, UGT, and GST gene families.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
- Center for Computational Biology Internship, September 2021 - present
- UCLA Bruins-in-Genomics Internship (NSF-REU), Summer 2021
- Whiteman Lab Undergraduate Researcher, February 2020 - June 2021
- UC Davis Immunology Research Assistant, Summer 2018
PROJECTS
An app made with R Shiny that simulates different investments in stocks and/or bonds and how they progress over time. The probability of reaching the desired amount in an investment is also calculated.
HONORS & AWARDS
- Koret Research Fellowship, 2022
- Ronald E. McNair Scholar, 2021 - 2022
- BSP Research Fellow, 2021 - 2022
- UC Berkeley Leadership Award
